Elena Thompson

Elena Thompson is the owner and clinical director of Accepting Hearts ABA, LLC. A proud graduate of Boston University, Elena began her journey in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in late 2018 and quickly discovered her passion for supporting neurodiverse individuals and their families. She went on to earn her master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and worked throughout New England until 2023.

In early 2023, Elena relocated to South Florida to be closer to family and soon recognized a growing need for more ethical, individualized, and engaging ABA services in the area. With that vision in mind, she founded Accepting Hearts ABA to provide compassionate, professional, and child-led therapy rooted in best practices and a deep respect for each client’s unique needs.

With over seven years of experience, Elena specializes in supporting children between the ages of 2–13, while also having extensive experience working with adolescents and young adults ages 14–22. Her background includes working with individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Down syndrome, ADHD, selective mutism, anxiety, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and reactive attachment disorder (RAD). She is deeply committed to creating a safe, validating, and joyful environment where children can thrive and families feel supported.

Elena believes in meeting children where they are, honoring their emotional experiences, and tailoring interventions to help them succeed. Her approach centers on ethical, individualized, and evidence-based care that empowers every client.

When she’s not working with families, you can find Elena playing pickleball, exploring downtown, or relaxing at home with her two beloved dogs, Winnie and Pluto. She also enjoys trying new restaurants with friends and unwinding with a good TV series.
