Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Meredith "Keely" Deker is a native Floridian and has been a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) since 2002. She has always loved kids and has always gravitated towards working with them. Keely has always been fascinated by human behavior and that curiosity ultimately led her to ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis). During her undergraduate studies at Florida State University (FSU), Keely was first introduced to ABA by Dr. John Bailey (a pioneer in the field of behavior analysis). His introductory ABA class taught Keely how behavior analysis applies to every situation in life- from driving down the street to having a conversation with a friend.

Keely went on to earn her master’s degree at The Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) from Dr. Jose Martinez-Diaz and she worked for his company, ABA Technologies in Melbourne. She later moved to Fort Lauderdale and worked for ARC Broward in Sunrise and then started the behavioral program at The Miami Children’s Hospital/Dan Marino Center in Weston. Keely specializes in an area of ABA known as Verbal Behavior (teaching children how to communicate and gain early learning skills such as imitating and listening) and has expertise in working with children on the autism spectrum with communication deficits and maladaptive behaviors. Keely has worked in homes, clinics, schools, group homes, and outpatient facilities. She moved back to her home city of Orlando in 2008 with her family. Keely is available via telehealth and in-person for behavioral assessment and intervention services.
