About

The behavior specialist at Shoreline Behavioral know the strain and stress challenging behaviors impose on the entire family. As parents, we can make simple changes that can be life altering for our children! You don't have to tip-toe around little people engaging in disruptive behaviors. Simple strategies can bring peace and harmony to your family.

Every ABA session will look different! After a comprehensive functional behavior assessment by a behavior analyst, we will make a recommendation based on your child's individual needs. Typically, we implement ABA treatment in the child's home or school. We spend time getting to know your child and your family to ensure therapy is effective and values based.

ABA is "active" therapy. ABA interventions are often implemented during play or during the “typical routine" in the home setting or school setting. We teach skills needed to help your child meet their full potential. This may include but is not limited to communication skills, independent daily living skills, increasing social skills, and cognition skills.

The typical ABA program for children with autism can be anywhere from 10-40 hours per week. Focused ABA therapy is for a client with a specific focus, for example, social skills training. Focused ABA is approximately 10-20 hours. Comprehensive ABA therapy is for clients who have higher needs for skill acquisition areas and may exhibit more severe problem behaviors. Comprehensive ABA therapy can be 20-40 hours of direct therapy per week. Kiddos with ADHD or other behavioral disorders may work with us anywhere from 6-10 hours per week. The BCBA will make a recommendation based on your child's needs.
